ΣΥΛΒΙΟΣ ΣΥΡΡΟΣ
Γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα. Είναι απόφοιτος της τζαζ σχολής CIM του Παρισιού. Διδάχθηκε σαξόφωνο απο τους: Xavier Cobo, Jean Claude Fonerbach, Guillome Naturel, ενορχήστρωση στην τάξη του Ivan Julien, αρμονία και αυτοσχεδιασμό με τον Claude Fonerbach. Επίσης έλαβε ιδιαίτερα μαθήματα αναπνοής με τον Mr. Pichreau. Στην οκταετή του διαμονή στο Παρίσι διετέλεσε βοηθός καθηγητού στην σχολή CIM και ταυτόχρονα δίδαξε στην σχολή τζαζ της Vernon για τρία χρόνια, στην σχολή τζαζ της Limay για τρία χρόνια και στην σχολή τζαζ της Bonnieres για τρία χρόνια. Έπαιξε στο κουινέτο του George Beckerich. Έπαιξε και ηχογράφησε με την BIG BAND του Bruno Bianchi. Επίσης συμμετείχε σε πολλά τρίο και κουιντέτα στην Παρισινή μουσική σκηνή. Έπαιξε και συνέθεσε τζαζ μουσική στο One Man Show του Philippe Minela.
Στην Ελλάδα δίδαξε στο τζαζ τμήμα του Δημοτικού Ωδείου Πειραιά, στο RSI και το 1998 ίδρυσε στο Ωδείο Athenaeum το τμήμα Swinging Jazz Athenaeum στο οποίο είναι μέχρι και σήμερα υπεύθυνος σπουδών.
Μετά την επιστροφή του απο το Παρίσι συμμετείχε πολύ ενεργά στην ελληνική τζαζ σκηνή και το 1999 ίδρυσε το "Sylvios Trio" με μόνιμο συνεργάτη του στα τύμπανα το Ν. Σιδηροκαστρίτη, όπου και περιόδευσε για μια πενταετία σε όλη την Ελλάδα.
SYLVIOS SYRROS
Born in Athens . He is a graduate of CIM Jazz School in Paris. He learned the saxophone from: Xavier Cobo, Jean Claude Fonerbach, Guillome Naturel, arrangement in the class of Ivan Julien, harmony and improvisation by Claude Fonerbach. Also he took private lessons of breathing by Mr. Pichreau.During the eight years of his residence in Paris,he was assistant professor at the School of CIM and simultaneously he taught in the jazz school of Vernon for three years ,in the jazz school of Limay for three years and in the jazz school of Bonnieres for three years . He played in the quintet of George Beckerich. He played and recorded with the BIG BAND of Bruno Bianchi. Also,he participated in several trios and quintets in the Parisian music scene . He played and composed jazz music in the One Man Show of Philippe Minela.In Greece,he taught in the jazz department of the Municipal Conservatory of Piraeus,in RSI and in 1998 he founded in the Athenaeum Conservatory the departement Swinging Jazz Athenaeum where up today he is the artistic director.When he returned from Paris,he participated very actively in the Greek jazz scene and in 1999 he founded the "Sylvios Trio" with permanent partner in drums N.Sidirokastritis, where he toured for five years throughout Greece .
